Phoenix Arts Academy has triple threat performance programs for students who want to be immersed in the arts: a curriculum of weekly classes where they’ll learn to sing, act, and dance.
Junior/Intermediate classes
for students in prep & grades 1-6
Mondays 5pm-6:30pm
Senior classes
for students in grades 7-12
Tuesdays 5pm-7pm
Overview of the year
Foundational Skills & Technique
In term 1, we alternate skill and technique for dancing, singing, and acting across each 10-week term.
In 2024, Term 1 is 10 weeks of weekly classes 22 January – 28 March
Mid-Year Showcase
In term 2, we apply the foundational skills from term 1 to a mid-year showcase.
The majority of term 2 is showcase rehearsals.
At the end of term 2, all classes perform in a mid-year showcase.
Each class will perform at least one group dance number.
Some individuals and smaller groups may do songs, monologues, or scenes.
In 2024, Term 2 is 10 weeks of weekly classes 15 April – 21 June
Rehearsals
In terms 3 & 4, the junior, intermediate, and senior classes rehearse for the end of year show.
In terms 3 & 4, the adult class rehearses for the end of year showcase or concert.
In 2024, Term 3 is 10 weeks of weekly classes 8 July – 13 September
In 2024, Term 4 for Junior/Intermediate/Senior classes is 7 weeks of weekly classes 30 September – 15 November with additional classes in weeks 6 and 7
End of Year Show
In 2024, the End of Year Show is The Little Mermaid which will be performed by the Junior, Intermediate and Senior classes 15-16 November
