Are you our new tutor?

We received the very sad news that due to increasing work demands, our current tutor team is unable to continue their roles with us moving forward. Tianna & Holly have been a wonderful team over the last 2 and a half years and we will be extremely sad to see them move to fresh pastures. We wish them all the best with their future creative endeavours!

This opens up an amazing opportunity for our youth program, and we are putting out Expressions of Interest for a new tutor for our Phoenix Young Performers, affectionately known as PYP. Commencing ASAP.

PYP is a multi-faceted theatre education program meeting on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings (commencing at 5pm). We believe in a holistic approach to musical theatre and focus on acting, singing and dancing in tandem. Two terms (1 and 4) are focused on learning and improving core skills and the remaining terms (2 & 3) are spent working towards a fully-staged, costumed and light show – the whole works!

We are seeking an enthusiastic tutor who has experience teaching &/or leading our next generation of performers. We have a strong cohort currently and are excited to continue to increase our program’s numbers. We want you to be instrumental in that. This role has a stipend for your work and time, which will be discussed with applicants.

Our minimum commitment at this time is Terms 2 and 3 which will consist of Directing & Leading 2 musicals. These have been approved by MTI but will be announced in due course. We have additional help to support the teaching of vocals and teaching of choreography, but this role will require some basic movement skills.

To summarise:
We’re looking for:
– An enthusiastic leader who is comfortable directing young children in a musical. Some of whom may never have been in a show before.
– Someone with an ability to move and work with vocals.
– Someone with vision who can work in a team, but can lead from the front.
– Someone available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5pm – 8.30pm.
– Someone who can commit to the end of Term 3, but ideally, to continue forward to continue to improve our program.
