The Addams Family

Synopsis

THE ADDAMS FAMILY features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family — a man her parents have never met.

And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.

Shane Webb

Director

Shane is thrilled to find himself back on the Director’s side of the table after helming Phoenix’s productions of Sweeney Todd, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Kinky Boots, and Young Frankenstein; as well as The Producers for Queensland Musical Theatre, and Writer’s Block for MTG to name a few. His acting credits include Pluto and Dante in the Australian Premier of Jasper In Deadland, King Max, Billy Bigelow, Prof. Harold Hill, The Cowardly Lion, Roo Webber, and Prof. Callahan.

He is studying a Bachelors in Writing and Communication through Curtin University, has studied Acting at the University of Southern Queensland, and Screenwriting at the New York Film Academy. Shane also proudly serves as the Artistic Director for Phoenix Ensemble, and is a passionate advocate for the Arts Community in SEQ and Australia.

A lifelong lover and supporter of the performing arts Shane has also served as Senior Editor at TheatreHaus, Co-founder and Editor-In-Chief for TheFourthWall, Co-founder and Director of Stage for the Redlands Drama Festival, and a senior contributor to Theatre People. When not directing or acting, he has found himself holding nearly every position in a theatre possible; from set painter and stage hand, to lighting designer and ‘let-me-hold-that-while-you-cut-it-they-don’t-trust-me-with-power-tools’. Shane’s philosophy of Arts Leadership comes from a deep believe in giving service to the arts and to the community. Something he hopes he brings to Phoenix, and to all creative projects he works on.
